An apartment complex in Manatee County has begun welcoming its first tenants. Located at 2351 University Parkway, Alon features 312 apartments.

The first move-ins were Nov. 15, after the luxury apartment complex achieved its certificate of occupancy in October, according to a statement from The Collier Cos, which owns the property.

Alon includes one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with 9-foot ceilings, quartz countertops, vinyl plank flooring and stainless steel appliances. They range from about 750 to more than 1,300 square feet. Rent for a one-bedroom unit starts at $1,899 a month.

Community amenities include a saltwater swimming pool, two-story fitness center with spin bikes and mirror, co-working lounge with privacy pods and conference rooms, social lounge, outdoor grilling station and hospitality kitchen with self-service expresso bar. There are also EV charging stations and a bicycle repair lounge on-site.

West Palm Beach-based Verdex Construction built Alon, while Dynamik Design of Atlanta handled the architectural design. Kimley-Horn, which has an office in Sarasota, oversaw engineering, while IDG of Orlando was the landscape architect. Regions Bank financed the development, according to a statement.

Collier purchased the 15.7-acre site for Alon on University Parkway for $18.72 million in 2023, according to Manatee County property records.

The Collier Cos., based in Gainesville, has more than 13,000 apartments under management. It develops, owns and manages multifamily properties in Florida and Georgia and is expanding across the Southeast. Currently, the company is on a mission to double the number of apartments in its portfolio over the next decade, with more than 1,100 units under construction and more than 1,200 in development. Among its upcoming apartment communities are Monarch in Fort Myers and Verve in Wesley Chapel.
