Wesley Chapel-based financial markets forecasting software firm VantagePoint AI has announced expansion plans in Pasco County, a project that includes an investment of $4.6 million and at least 60 new high-wage jobs.
The investment includes land acquisition, building renovations and equipment/technology infrastructure, according to a statement from the Pasco Economic Development Council. The work, at its Wesley Chapel offices, will begin in January, the EDC says. Over the next three years, the firm seeks to add 60 new full-time positions — more than doubling the current team of 51 employees.
Technical analyst and trading software pioneer Louis Mendelsohn founded the company in 1979, and it has been based in Wesley Chapel since 1987. Now run by Mendelsohn’s son, Lane Mendelsohn, it was one of the first companies to make commercially available artificial intelligence-based trading software accessible to retail investors, and it now serves over 160 countries globally, the EDC says.
"After 38 years in this community, we're more invested than ever in Pasco County's future and ours is intertwined with it,” Lane Mendelsohn, president of VantagePoint AI, says in the release.
Pasco County Commissioners approved an Economic Incentive Agreement in conjunction with the expansion plans. The agreement includes up to $240,000 for 60 new-to-Pasco full-time jobs with salaries equal to or greater than 150% of the 2025 Pasco County average annual wage. The agreement also includes a High Impact Job Creation Bonus not to exceed $61,047 over a ten-year period and Discretionary Training Funds up to $30,000, which help to reimburse employers for training and upskilling their employees, the release states.
“We’re thrilled to see VantagePoint AI continue to grow and invest right here in Pasco County,” Pasco EDC President and CEO Bill Cronin says in the release. “Their expansion not only reinforces our region’s reputation as a hub for innovation and technology, but it also highlights how Pasco County companies are at the forefront of artificial intelligence. VantagePoint’s continued commitment to our community will bring high-quality jobs, cutting-edge technology advancements and lasting economic impact to the area.”
