The Shops at Wiregrass, a Pasco County open-air shopping center, is getting an upgrade and several new tenants.

The “the refresh project” as it’s being called, includes a transformed Center Court between Paseo Drive and Piazza Avenue that will include open-air green space extending up to the circle in the middle of the property, landscaping, an enhanced fountain, large shaded structures, updated lighting and new seating areas, according to a statement.

Two fountain areas along Paseo Drive, will also be renovated and expanded to include more comfortable seating, shaded areas and landscaped beds.

The landscaping will be refreshed throughout the property as well, “creating a garden-like atmosphere,” the statement says.

A spokesperson did not respond to questions about when the work would begin and how long it would last.

The Shops at Wiregrass is owned by the Dallas real estate investment firm TriGate Capital, which paid $70.5 million for it May 2023.

The 800,000-square-foot open-air, pedestrian friendly center is on State Road 56 off of Interstate 75 in Wesley Chapel. It was built in 2008.

Its anchor tenants are Macy’s, Dillard’s and JCPenney and its roster of retailers and eateries includes GrillSmith New American Grill, Barnes & Noble, Torrid, Hot Topic and Pottery Barn.

Joining that list will be four new tenants scheduled to move in later this year. Those tenants will join two others — Market in the Mall and Suits by R.A. — which recently opened.

The new tenants are:

  • Anthropologie: The apparel, accessories and home décor retailer is set to open Wednesday, May 21, on Paseo Drive.
  • Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine: The Turkish restaurant with traditional paintings, silk carpets and homemade glassware is “coming soon” to Paseo Drive.
  • LaserAway: The med-spa specializing in laser hair removal, laser tattoo removal, injectables and body contouring is “coming soon” to the courtyard near JCPenney.
  • Oddfellows Ice Cream: The shop serves “wacky and weird” flavors along with reimagined classics. It is scheduled to open late this summer on n Piazza Avenue.
