A footwear retailer with global reach recently opened the first brick-and-mortar location for the business, in Fort Myers. Bucaro International Shoes set up shop in mid-January in Bell Tower, an open-air shopping destination on South Cleveland Avenue.

Bucaro sells sandals and ankle boots as well as peep-toe, platform, slingback and ballerina-style shoes. All footwear is handmade in Colombia, according to the Bucaro International Shoes website.

“At Bucaro, every pair of shoes is a handmade masterpiece, crafted with precision and care. We use genuine leather, memory foam and artisanal craftsmanship to ensure that every step is comfortable, elegant and unique,” Maria Quiroga-Cardenas, owner of Bucaro International Shoes, says in a statement. “Bell Tower’s focus on providing a quality customer experience makes it the perfect location for our first retail store.”

The new 826-square-foot store is near Nordstrom Rack, between Drooling Dog Bakery and Omaha Steaks. In addition to shoes, the store sells handbags.

“We are proud to be the site for Bucaro’s first brick-and-mortar store, where it joins our many other fine fashion retailers,” James Ralston, general manager for the shopping center, says in the statement.

Bell Tower contains about 40 shops and restaurants, including Bath & Body Works, Trader Rick’s for the Artful Woman, Talbots, Ulta, Da Ru Ma Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Lounge, The Capital Grille, Burntwood Tavern, Dave & Buster’s and Regal Cinemas, among others.

“Bell Tower has focused on expanding its tenant roster to include top names in fashion retail, entertainment and fine dining,” Ralston says, “making the center a ‘must visit’ destination for sophisticated and casual shoppers alike.”
