A health care executive previously based in Texas has been named the new CEO of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. Robbert Anderson brings more than 25 years of health care leadership experience to his new role, according to a statement.

Most recently, Anderson was CEO of the Hospitals of Providence Memorial campus and Providence Children’s Hospital, both of which are in El Paso, Texas. They are part of Tenet Healthcare, a health care provider headquartered in Dallas, Texas, that has about 700 facilities nationwide, including 49 acute-care hospitals. During his career, Anderson also served as CEO for Tenet’s Sierra and Specialty campuses in Texas, according to a statement.

Anderson has a bachelor’s degree in business from Texas Christian University and a master’s in business administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.

“Rob’s extensive professional experience in health care, dedication to health care excellence and strategic planning make him an ideal fit for our organization,” says Ryan Chandler, an executive with Lakewood Ranch Medical Center’s parent company Universal Health Services. “We believe his leadership will contribute to the continued growth and success of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center.”

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is a 120-bed acute-care hospital owned by a subsidiary of Universal Health Services. The Pennsylvania-based health care provider has more than 400 facilities nationwide, of which 28 are hospitals, including Manatee Memorial Hospital. Universal Health Services posted $15.8 billion in revenue in 2024.

Anderson, who was appointed CEO of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center on April 21, takes over from Philip Reber, who held the position on an interim basis since last August when the previous CEO was promoted to lead Manatee Memorial. Going forward, Reber will report to Anderson and continue to serve as COO.
