The Ferber Co., a Ponte Vedra developer, has bought a 15.5-acre parcel in Riverview and plans to build a retail center on the site.

The property is near the intersection of Balm Road and U.S. Highway 301, and its list of tenants already includes Dutch Bros, Discount Tire, Tidal Wave Car Wash and a yet-to-be named self-storage facility.

The firm says there will also be “high volume fast food and quick service restaurants” in the center.

Ferber paid $4.2 million for the property.

Ferber Vice President of Development Services Ryan Plate says in an emailed statement that the deal was completed “after several years of zoning and permitting challenges.”

“We have an excellent retail tenant lineup that will thrive in the fast-growing south Hillsborough County market, especially considering the high barriers for entry and limited commercial land,” Plate says.

Funding for the project is through Cogent Bank.

Ferber, which has an office in St. Petersburg, is a privately held real estate and investment firm founded in 1907. It has projects across the country, from a standalone Chase Bank branch in New Jersey to the Center at Four Points in Austin, Texas.

Locally, its portfolio includes properties in Naples, Land O’Lakes, Fort Myers, Lakeland, Plant City, St. Petersburg, Largo, Pinellas Park and Lutz.

Ryan Sampson, managing partner at Tampa’s Eshenbaugh Land Co. brokered the deal for 13.54 acres.

This story has been updated to reflect the total acreage bought by Ferber and how much it paid.
