Northern Trust hires Sarasota area community foundation exec

Northern Trust Wealth Management named Kirstin Fulkerson, well known in the Sarasota area for her work with the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, as a wealth strategist in the Sarasota-Charlotte market.

Fulkerson joins Northern Trust after more than 20 years with the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, based in Venice. She was most recently senior vice president for philanthropy there, where she worked “closely with donors to structure and execute complex financial plans that incorporate estate, tax, wealth and philanthropic goals,” according to a statement. 

In her role as wealth strategist at Northern Trust, Fulkerson will lead the “delivery of trust, investment and advisory solutions that enhance outcomes for high-net-worth families, individuals, and foundations throughout the market,”  the release states.

“Sarasota and Charlotte Counties represent very important markets for Northern Trust,” says Tom Oliveri, president of the West Florida Region for Northern Trust Wealth Management, in the statement. “We have seen significant growth in the wealth demographics and are committed to expanding our impact. Kirstin’s impressive contributions while at Gulf Coast Community Foundation and her ability to effectively collaborate with clients and their professional advisors will enable her to deliver creative solutions for the management and transfer of their wealth.” 

Northern Trust Wealth Management had $402.5 billion in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
