Matt Beall, CEO and chairman of the board at Bradenton-based retailer Bealls Inc., recently launched two podcasts where he is the host.

One podcast, "Limitless," explores a wide variety of topics that are of personal interest to Beall, according to a statement. The other, "Legacy," focuses on a range of professional topics centered around the Beall family business.

Matt Beall is the fourth generation of his family to oversee the business, which had $1.87 billion in revenue in 2022. The company goes back to 1915, when R.M. Beall opened a small-town five-and-dime in Bradenton with, according to the company’s website, “one single purpose: outfitting families for less.” R.M. Beall’s son, E.R. Beall, joined the business in 1940. And the third generation, Robert “Bob” Beall II, led the company as president from 1980 through 2006.

“As we move past 650 stores in 23 states, our reach is expanding and it’s important to stay connected,” Beall says in the statement. “Both innovation and connecting with people have been critical to Bealls’ success for decades. These podcasts are a great way for people across America to be able to connect directly with me and with Bealls.”

Topics on "Limitless," says Beall, have included ancient civilizations, emerging ideas and theories, mysteries, plant medicine, cryptocurrency, and ancient megaliths and megalithic sites. Another topic on "Limitless": UAPs or or unidentified anomalous phenomenon — otherwise known as UFOs.

"Legacy," meanwhile, is more business-like, with topics such as operations, culture, value and people. Beall says he intends to speak with people like Guy Harvey and Derrick Brooks on the podcast. “At the end of the day, people have a lot of options for where to shop,” he says. “People want to understand and learn about the companies where they shop and about the individuals who operate those companies. This offers great insight into both.”

"Matt Beall Legacy" and "Matt Beall Limitless" podcasts are available on YouTube, Apple and Spotify.

Bealls Inc. operates more than 650 retail stores in 23 states under the names bealls, Bealls Florida, Home Centric and Rugged Earth Outfitters and online at Bealls.com and BeallsFlorida.com.
