Fort Myers law firm names new top attorney

Southwest Florida real estate attorney Edward Canterbury has been named managing lawyer at Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt P.A., one of the largest law firms in the region.

Canterbury, who has been the the Fort Myers-based firm since 2005, was elected to a three-year term beginning in May, according to a statement. Canterbury previously served on the firm’s Executive Committee, leading both the Associate and Expansion committees and contributing significantly to the Recruiting Committee, the firm says.

“Assuming the role of Managing Lawyer at Henderson Franklin during our firm's centennial year is an extraordinary honor,” Canterbury says in the release.

Canterbury represents a diverse clientele, including developers, builders, governmental agencies, lending institutions, nonprofit corporations and national title insurance underwriters. His practice spans commercial and residential development, acquisitions, finance, survey matters, title insurance and commercial leases. 

Henderson Franklin has over 50 attorneys and offices in Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, and Naples. Its attorneys handle matters in business and tax planning, estate planning, family law, civil litigation, eminent domain, workers’ compensation, employment law, real estate and land use and environmental law, among other disciplines.
