The second of two resource fairs for businesses impacted by Hurricane Ian has been postponed due to the incoming tropical storm.

With Tropical Storm Idalia expected to make landfall early Wednesday, the U.S. Small Business Administration has made the call to postpone the Disaster Recovery and Resilience Resource Fair that was scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the Lakes Regional Library in Fort Myers.

“The storm underscores the significance of the offered resources and readiness,” a press release reads. Once through the storm, the organization plans to announce a new date to host the fair.

Coined a free “one-stop shop” the fairs address disaster recovery funding, access to capital, procurement opportunities, financial literacy, economic prospects in the region, government contracting and community economic empowerment. The first resource fair took place on Thursday, Aug. 24.
