BlueGrace Logistics, a Tampa-based, third-party shipping company, has announced plans to expand to Mexico in late 2023.

According to a news release, the opening of an office south of the border will provide additional support for the firm’s existing portfolio of customers who move freight within, in and out of Mexico. BlueGrace says the expansion aligns with recent trends in the logistics industry that have seen more and more small- and medium-sized businesses reorganize their supply chains to utilize suppliers in Mexico.

"As more companies look for nearshoring opportunities, BlueGrace is aligning itself with shippers' needs," BlueGrace Founder and CEO Bobby Harris states in the release. "Our customers are becoming less reliant on overseas suppliers and this next phase in BlueGrace's growth will help clear the path of least resistance getting their products to market."

An exact opening date and location of BlueGrace Logistics’ Mexico office was not disclosed in the release, but the company has hired Jose Fernandez to oversee it. Fernandez will serve as vice president and Mexico country manager, a position he held with Coyote Logistics, the release states. He most recently served as senior manager of solutions, logistics and supply chain management at DP World.
