Corporate income tax filers have caught a break.
The Florida Department of Revenue Director Jim Zingale extended the due dates in response to those impacted by Hurricane Ian. The announcement was in response to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) declaring an extension.
Florida taxpayers who file corporate income tax returns and installment payments can now file by March 2, 2023, as long as their original due date fell on or after Sept. 23. The extension applies to businesses throughout the state.
"Hurricane Ian was a historically catastrophic storm, and the total impact is yet to be determined,” Zingale says in the release. “The Department of Revenue is ready to assist business owners in the affected areas as they deal with the damages and begin to recover."
The extension was implemented following Gov. Ron DeSantis declaring a state of emergency in response to the storm.
