Packaging giant begins building $96M facility in region

NAPLES — Construction is underway for a new $96 million distribution center for packaging giant Uline in Naples.

Naples-based DeAngelis Diamond and Minneapolis-based Mortenson are the leading builders on the project, according to a statement. The new Uline Naples facility — near the Paradise Coast Sports Complex, just north of Interstate 75 — is planned as a 937,000-square-foot structural steel framework warehouse. The project, with 40-foot clear height ceilings, will also include a single-story office complex on the southeast end of the warehouse building, the release adds. Construction began in July and is expected to be completed by early 2023.

With over 8,000 North American employees, Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin-based Uline has distribution centers in Chicago, Minneapolis, Allentown, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, and Seattle, as well as Mexico and Canada. The firm is one of North America's leading distributors of shipping, packaging and industrial supplies. Mortenson, a construction and real estate development firm with offices throughout the country, has previously worked on other Uline projects, including a 1,100,000-square-foot distribution center and 22,000-square-foot conference center on Uline’s corporate campus in Pleasant Prairie, the release states.

Founded in 1996, DeAngelis Diamond has grown from a single office in Naples to now seven locations throughout the Southeast and extending to the Midwest. It also does work in the Caribbean Islands. It posted $318.45 million in revenue in 2019.
