CAPTIVA — A pair of family trusts from Ohio has made the largest Gulf-front vacant land sale to date on Captiva Island, buying a 1.28-acre site for $5.6 million.

The buildable site, within South Seas Island Resort at 925 South Seas Plantation Road, includes more than 130 feet of Gulf frontage, according to a statement. The entities that bought the land are listed as the Fifteen Family Trust and the Daisy Family Trust, according to Lee County property appraiser records. The trustees, records show, are Edwin Rizor and Tracy Rizor, both of Granville, Ohio.

LeAne Taylor Suarez, vice president and broker of John R. Wood Properties’ Captiva Island office, marketed the excavated property. “This location is such that the buyer will experience a true island lifestyle,” Suarez says in the statement. “It is a perfect, exclusive place to witness beautiful sunsets, enjoy long beach walks, indulge in fabulous shelling, and enjoy resort amenities with a private membership.”

The property closed for 95% of the list price and was on the market for 200 days.
