FORT MYERS — National home builder Taylor Morrison has broken ground on its newest resort-lifestyle community, Esplanade Lake Club, on approximately 778 acres off Alico Road surrounding Lake Como in Fort Myers.

The 352-acre lake will allow for recreational boat use, a lakefront promenade, boat ramp, dry storage, recreational dock and the option for select individual resident boat docks, according to a statement.

Taylor Morrison will offer single-family and twin villa homes at the project, the release adds. Planned amenities include a resort-style pool, the outdoor Bahama Bar and Grill restaurant, full-service Koquina Sand Spa with lakeside spa cabana, tennis, pickleball, bocce ball, walking trails along the waterfront and a kayak launch. A full-time lifestyle manager will be on-site to plan events, parties and gatherings for residents.

Esplanade Lake Club is near the intersection of Ben Hill Griffin Parkway and Alico Road and is in close proximity to Gulf Coast Town Center, Southwest Florida International Airport and Florida Gulf Coast University.
