SARASOTA — Commercial contractor Jon F. Swift Construction was awarded the contract for the utility infrastructure portion of Quay Sarasota by developer GreenPointe Holdings LLC.

According to a press release, this phase of the project will involve all underground utilities, including water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and FPL. The project also includes all curbs, sidewalks and roadways for future development.

Construction is expected to be complete in summer 2019.

“We know this is a much-anticipated project by the Sarasota community and we are eager to get started,” says GreenPointe Holdings Development Manager Brett Blank in a statement. “Jon F. Swift Construction has the experience and knowledge to complete the infrastructure portion of this project, which will set the stage for the rest of the development.”

Jacksonville-based GreenPointe Holdings will develop the 14-acre, mixed-use Quay Sarasota Waterfront District on the Sarasota Bayfront. It will include luxury residential, upscale retail, boutique hotel and office space overlooking a yacht basin with boat slips, a waterfront park and a boardwalk.

GreenPointe is developing and managing 13 master-planned communities in 11 Florida counties, a press release says.
