Eye doctor on a mission to Honduras

FORT MYERS — Motivated by a desire to help impoverished Hondurans “See the Difference” of better eyesight, Dr. Klaus Freeland of Snead Eye Group on Oct. 8 embarked on a week-long mission trip to perform otherwise unavailable ophthalmological care such as cataract, glaucoma and pterygium surgery to the residents of the remote community of Balfate Colon, Honduras. The closest town to the village is La Ceiba, about a one-hour drive.
