Law firm secures $557,000 award for injured client

FORT MYERS — The law firm Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner recently helped a former Cape Coral resident win a verdict in the amount of $557,000 after State Farm Insurance proposed a settlement of $50,000 for injuries and damages caused by an underinsured driver.

Dennis Lesavich sustained injuries to the connective tissues of his neck and back when the pickup truck he was driving was rear-ended by another pickup in February 2015 on McGregor Boulevard in south Fort Myers, according to a statement. Because of his injuries, doctors placed Lesavich on a nearly year-long travel restriction after the crash, limiting his ability to work his job as a traveling salesman.
