TAMPA — Atlanta-based PulteGroup has broken ground on six model homes at Del Webb Bexley, an 850-residence, age-restricted community in Land O’ Lakes.
The residences, according to a press release, are designed for pre-retirement and retiring boomers who remain active intellectually, socially and physically.
Del Webb specializes in active-adult communities targeted to the 55 and up demographic, and the Land O’Lakes project represents the first Del Webb community to be built from the ground up in the Tampa Bay area since 1960.
“The model homes we are building accommodate a variety of lifestyles,” states Sean Strickler, PulteGroup’s west Florida division president, in the release.
The model homes represent just six of the 17 designs offered at Del Webb Bexley, which is being developed in four phases on 489 acres within the 1,825-acre Bexley master-planned community, located about 20 miles northwest of downtown Tampa. The model homes are expected to be completed and open to interested buyers by January, the release states.
Del Webb Bexley will also include a 17,000-square-foot, multimillion-dollar clubhouse.
