NAPLES — The LaPlaya Beach Resort & Club in Naples has partially reopened following repairs and restoration work to remediate the wind and water damage caused by Hurricane Irma.
The 189-room resort reopened its Beach House, with 79 guestrooms, and Bay Tower, with 40 guestrooms, according to a statement. The full restoration of LaPlaya, including the renovation of the Gulf Tower, with 70 guestrooms, continues to be on target for completion early in the first quarter of 2018,the release adds.
“We are extremely grateful for our team's hard work in expeditiously completing the restoration work at LaPlaya,” said Jon Bortz, Chairman, President and CEO of Pebblebrook Hotel Trust, which owns the hotel. “The efforts made by the property team have been essential to our quick turnaround and will continue to be critical as we ramp up operations for the winter season in Naples.”
Pebblebrook Hotel Trust is a publicly traded real estate investment trust that acquires and invests primarily in high-end, full-service hotels located in urban markets in major gateway cities. It purchased the real estate for the 189-room LaPlaya in 2015 for $182.3 million.
