Brewery earns two medals at national contest

BRADENTON — Two Motorworks Brewing beers earned medals at the 2016 U.S. Open Beer Championship in Oxford, Ohio.

The Bradenton-based brewery, located at 1014 Ninth St. W., took home the gold medal in the Chili Beer category for its Chocolate Datil Pepper Imperial Porter, a statement says. It won silver in the Smoked/Rauch Beer category for its Rauchbier.

Motorworks Brewing's headquarters was built in 1923 as an automobile dealership. The 27,000-square-foot building houses its brewery and taproom.
