Algenol, Chinese firm partner to bring ethanol technology to region
Fort Myers-based Algenol is working with South China's Fujian Zhongyuan New Energy Co. Ltd. to develop projects throughout Southern China. The companies signed an agreement that creates a partnership for what they describe as a joint exploration project. The companies will look for opportunities in China for Algenol's direct-to-ethanol technology process, which uses industrial carbon dioxide emissions from power plants as a feedstock for proprietary algae to produce fuels.
