BRADENTON — The Bradenton Country Club has been chosen to host a 2015 U.S. Women's Open Golf Championship Qualifier. The Donald Ross-designed 18-hole golf course will be one of only 21 qualifying sites nationwide. Golfers will compete May 18 for a spot in one of this year's women's major golf tournaments.

In 2014, there were 1,702 women who competed in the qualifier, which was played at the Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in Pinehurst, N.C. This year, three-time U.S. Women's Open Champion, hall of fame golfer and Bradenton Country Club member Hollis Stacy host the event. Tee times start at 7:15 a.m., and the qualifier is open to the public.
