Auto dealer drives off with Gettel Supercenter

BRADENTON — Firkins Automotive Group of Bradenton purchased the Gettel Pre-owned Supercenter on First Street in Bradenton for $1.5 million.

The 1.68-acre L-shaped parcel, at 2601 E. First St., Bradenton, runs along the east side of U.S. 41 from 27th Street East to 26th Street. The property has a 3,408-square-foot dealership building and an 8,120-square-foot service building. Firkins already operates its Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram and Mitsubishi dealerships in that area.

The Gettel Automotive Family of Dealerships has owned the property since 2011, when it bought it and Jenkins Hyundai of Bradenton to the north. Gettel paid $4.13 million for those sites, which stretch across a total of 4.7 acres, according to property records. Gettel recently moved its Hyundai store in Bradenton to its new Gettel Hyundai of Lakewood dealership next to Toyota of Lakewood at 5959 E. State Road 64. Bradenton.
