The manufacturing plants at Arthrex will be humming for the next five years churning out devices for the U.S. armed forces, according to a statement from the U.S. Department of Defense.
Naples-based medical device manufacturer Arthrex won a $255 million contract with the U.S. Department of Defense to supply the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies with orthopedic devices and accessories.
Arthrex beat 57 other bidders for the contract, which will last through August 2019. The privately held company posted revenues of $1.5 billion in 2013 and ranked 17th largest company on the Gulf Coast, from Tampa to Naples, in the Business Observer's Gulf Coast 500.
