Burger 21 signs franchise deal to bring the restaurant to Texas
The Tampa-based Burger 21 franchise has signed a franchise agreement to develop its first restaurant in Texas.

First-time franchise owners and childhood friends Jose Haces and Juan Pablo Mondragon plan to develop their first Burger 21 location in the Arboretum area of Austin, Texas. Haces will manage the restaurant's day-to-day operations when the restaurant opens in 2015. The entrepreneurs hope to develop additional units in the Austin market over the next several years.

To date, Burger 21 has 12 open locations and 20 units in development across the country.

“It's a very exciting time in our company's history as developing a Burger 21 in Texas marks the brand's expansion into its ninth state,” Dan Stone, vice president of franchise development for Front
Burner Brands, management company for Burger 21, says in a press release.

Verizon Wireless adds XLTE upgrade to Naples 4G network
Verizon Wireless has deployed its XLTE technology in Naples, Jacksonville and Panama City to increase the capacity of the company's 4G LTE network and improve its services throughout Florida.

The XLTE technology was activated earlier in the year in Tampa Bay, South Florida, Central Florida and other markets in the state. Hundreds of XLTE cell sites have been activated in Florida since the start of 2014, with dozens in the new Jacksonville, Panama City and Naples areas.

XLTE used a specialized wireless spectrum that allows Verizon to offer increased capacity over its 4G LTE network. This means more customers in high-traffic locations can access Web services without a drop in network speeds.

Advanzeon subsidiary gains agreement to market sleep apnea product
Tampa-based Advanzeon Solutions Inc. announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Pharmacy Value Management Solutions Inc. has entered into an agreement to market and distribute Truck Driver Sleep Apnea Solutions Inc.'s sleep apnea program throughout the United States.

The company says the federal government has recently started requiring commercial drivers with a body mass index reading of 35 or greater be scrutinized more for sleep apnea by a certified medical examiner as part of the Medical Examination Report for Commercial Driver Fitness Determination.

Pharmacy Value Management Solutions says it is strongly positioned to offer the sleep-apnea programs to unions, self-funded groups and employers in combination with its cost-reduction pharmacy program.

“We sought out this marketing/distribution agreement, in part, because of our relationship with unions and, particularly, the Teamsters Union, whose main members are commercial drivers,” Clark Marcus, chairman and CEO of Advanzeon Solutions Inc., says in a press release. “Our pharmacy program, in and of itself, provides unions with significant savings on their general pharmacy needs. The direct relationship between obesity, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, hypertension, diabetes and a significant number of other illnesses requiring medications make our tie-in with [Truck Driver Sleep Apnea Solutions] a natural.”

Under the agreement, Pharmacy Value Management Solutions will market the CSAS on a fee basis. Terms of the distribution agreement were not disclosed.

The system/building should yield 4,800 pounds of medical cannabis a year.

The Sarasota-based company expects to lease the buildings to licensed marijuana growers.

“We believe this should be the best and highest use of the GroPro Systems Inc. technology and are excited to move to a definitive lease back agreement in the coming weeks,” Antonio Uccello III, Medical Cannabis Holdings' chairman and CEO, says in a press release. “Management believes revenue should be significant.”

At the same time, the company reported because of an unforeseen death in its accountant's family, the company would be delaying filing its financial statements.
