Air Products completes work on Port Manatee manufacturing plant

Air Products has completed a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) heat exchanger manufacturing facility in Manatee County. The new building will double the company's manufacturing capacity. The roughly 300,000-square-foot facility, adjacent to the Port of Manatee, currently employs more than 50 people and will begin manufacturing this month. Eventually it may employ 250 people after a four-year ramp-up period.

Air Products says the location near Port Manatee will allow it ship the large equipment it produces globally and in larger sizes than what is currently being built.

“At this location, Air Products will be able to supply the additional capacity required to stay ahead of increasing customer demand, and specifically for the manufacture of larger LNG heat exchangers,” Air Products' Chairman, President and CEO John McGlade says in a press release.
