Two St. Petersburg CPA firms merge

ST. PETERSBURG — Two of the oldest CPA firms in St. Petersburg have reached an agreement to merge. Whiteman and Co. PA, and Spoor + Associates PA will join together and operate under the Spoor + Associates name. In conjunction with the merger, Tom Whiteman, owner and managing shareholder of Whiteman and Co., will become a principal with Spoor + Associates.

Whiteman and Co. was formed in 1992 to provide accounting, tax and business advice.

“The next step for our team and clients is to merge with a firm of comparable quality, enabling us to expand our service offerings,” Whiteman says in a press release. “This is a partnership that I personally sought out. I chose Spoor + Associates because their services align very nicely with the services we currently offer. As a slightly larger firm, they can also bring some new resources and expanded services to the table.”
