Trust firm elevates exec to new role

VENICE — Caldwell Trust Co., with more than $760 million in assets under management, named longtime banker and financial industry executive H. Lee Thacker Jr. senior executive vice president.

Thacker has been in banking and financial services since 1959, according to a release. He joined Caldwell Trust in 1996, and has since been named a director, corporate secretary and trust officer. Thacker, the release states, moved to Venice from Georgia and learned about Caldwell in a magazine. He became a client first, and then joined the firm. Thacker held executive positions with banks in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina before he relocated to the Gulf Coast. Thacker's wife, Suzanne Thacker, is the compliance coordinator at Caldwell Trust.

This is the second major executive move at Caldwell Trust Co. this summer. In July the firm named former Gulf Coast area Citigroup executive Marc Hanson chief financial officer.
