Inventors unite for recognition

The Florida Inventors Hall of Fame, housed at USF Research Park at the University of South Florida in Tampa, seeks nominees for its inaugural class of inventors.

The organization, in a statement, says it aims to honor inventors with achievements that advanced the quality of life for Floridians, the state of Florida and the U.S. Nominations are open to all inventors — dead or alive — who have been Florida residents and completed a substantial amount of their inventive work while living and/or employed in the state. The nominee must be a named inventor on a U.S. patent, the Hall of Fame says, and the invention should have a significant mark on society and be commercially viable.

“We are excited to be selecting our inaugural class for the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame, honoring and celebrating those who personify invention and innovation,” Florida Inventors Hall of Fame Advisory Board Chairman Paul Sanberg says in the statement.
