TAMPA — Town & Country Hospital has appointed Jake Fisher as its new CEO.

Fisher comes to the hospital from Largo Medical Center, where he served as chief operating officer of the 422-bed, two-campus teaching hospital.

In his short time as CEO, Fisher has already led a variety of improvements and upgrades at Town & Country Hospital. The hospital recently created a single site instrumentation for the da Vinci SI Robotic Surgery System, upgraded its intensive-care unit monitoring and opened a 16-bed progressive care unit. It also has added telemetry and other imaging equipment, a new nuclear medicine camera and two ultrasound units.

The system-wide investments also include upgrades in the infrastructure of the facility, such as air handling units, fire alarm systems and generator upgrades and moving the IT systems/electronic medical records system to the HCA Meditech system.

Town & Country Hospital is seeking accreditation from The Joint Commission, which is the largest accrediting body for healthcare organizations in the nation. DNV Healthcare currently accredits the hospital.

An HCA facility, Town & Country Hospital is 201-bed hospital servicing principally northwest Hillsborough and northeast Pinellas counties. It has 450 employees and more than 300 physicians.
