ST. PETERSBURG — Powerful HSN Inc. CEO Mindy Grossman and her executive team aren't too busy to help those less fortunate.

Grossman, listed on Forbes' list of the world's 100 most powerful women, will present a mother and her two young daughters the keys to a new home at a Habitat for Humanity ceremony on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

Grossman's executive team and other employees at HSN (symbol: HSNI, recent price: $56.37) have spent more than 500 hours helping build the house at 6990 81st Ave. N., Pinellas Park, for Katrina Piparo's family, Grossman says in a press release.

It is the third Habitat house in Pinellas County that HSN, one of the 10 largest public companies in the Tampa Bay area, has sponsored. In the past three years, St. Petersburg-based HSN employees have volunteered nearly 2,000 hours at Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County, according to the release.

HSN employees met Piparo in 2012 while building a house for Shannon Keegan and her family. The Piparo family and Keegan family had been sharing a house.

JPMorgan Chase is the land sponsor for the Piparo home and has helped Habitat Pinellas acquire other land.

Habitat Pinellas, a nonprofit, has built 273 houses for families since 1985. The houses are sold at cost to buyers with zero-interest loans. Would-be homeowners must qualify financially, earning no more than 30% to 80% of the area's median income, and work between 250 to 350 hours building their new home.

HSN Inc., a $3.3 billion multichannel retailer, has two operating segments, HSN and Cornerstone. HSN's shopping television network reaches 95 million homes. Cornerstone is a catalog company.
