Chiropractor arrested for fraud

FORT MYERS — Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater charged chiropractor Harold John Pompey, 68, with scheming to defraud insurance carriers by filing fraudulent claims.

Pompey was working at Gate Parkway Diagnostics Center in Fort Myers, according to a statement from Atwater's office. The chiropractor was charged with one count of a first-degree scheme to defraud and six counts of false and fraudulent insurance claims.

“I am proud of our dedicated fraud investigators who work to protect honest and hardworking Floridians by getting these fraudsters off our streets and out of our wallets,” Atwater says in a statement.
