Diet firm expands presence

TAMPA — A Miami Beach-based chain of weight loss centers, BalanceDiet, acquired the assets and clients of Results Weight Loss, which has more than 12 Gulf Coast locations.

Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. But according to a BalanceDiet press release, the previous owners of Results, and its affiliated 1-800-Weight-Loss brand, were in foreclosure late last year.

BalanceDiet founder Christopher Palumbo said the firm plans to rebrand and expand the service offerings at the former Results locations, which stretch from Tampa to Naples. “We believe in the west Florida markets,” Palumbo said in the release. “It was apparent that a fresh approach, new products and updated services could really bring much needed momentum to the business."
