TAMPA — The University of South Florida will offer a new graduate program with the help of a partnership with the Tampa Bay Lightning and the team's charity organization, the Lightning Foundation.
USF will begin offering a two-year M.B.A. in Sport and Entertainment Management this fall, a news release says. The Lightning will support the program with a grant of an undisclosed amount. Students in the program will also have the opportunity to do paid internships with the team.
William A. Sutton will head the program. Sutton is a former professor of the DeVos Sport Business Management Graduate Program at the University of Central Florida.
Based in Tampa, the University of South Florida is a public university with four campuses and about 47,000 student enrollments.
