Business is apparently good, really good, in the employment management and performance measurement industry.

So good that Tampa-based Intelladon, with a niche in providing employee management services for companies worldwide, is in the middle of an explosive growth year. “We are nothing short of on fire,” Intelladon CEO Marc Blumenthal tells Coffee Talk. “We are doing wonderfully.”

Intelladon offers customized e-learning and talent management programs for a broad range of clients who choose from existing training programs or a customized package. The firm has an extensive corporate content and training library, with a focus on management, compliance, sales and IT.

Blumenthal says the company's sales will be up at least 50% this year and surpass $10 million, up from about $7 million in 2011. The firm had $4.5 million in 2010 revenues. Intelladon currently has 57 employees — and it hires two or three people a month to keep up with demand, Blumenthal says. The company, moreover, recently moved into a new 10,000-square-foot office in the Westshore area.

The surge in business, says Blumenthal, stems mostly from two factors: For one, he says outsourcing employee performance training has reached a tipping point the past two years. Another key to the growth, adds Blumenthal, is an aggressive sales force and exceptional employees.

The expansion has allowed Intelladon to emphasize its charitable side, where it works on projects for local and international nonprofit organizations. Recent pro bono clients include Feeding America and Oxfam America, an anti-poverty group. Intelladon completed an overhaul of how Oxfam manages and monitors employees. Says Blumenthal: “We found the way we can have the greatest impact (with nonprofits) is to do what we do best.”
