Love named Beall's president

BRADENTON — Beall's Inc. promoted Dan Love from chief financial officer to president this week.

Love is the former vice president of finance at L.L. Bean, and spent 10 years with Federated Department Stores as a senior vice president. Love takes over as president for CEO Steve Knopik, who had been serving in both capacities since his appointment as chief executive in 2006.

Beall's Inc. is the corporate parent of Beall's Department Stores Inc., Beall's Outlet Stores Inc., and Burke's Outlet Stores LLC. Founded in 1915, the privately owned retailer operates more than 560 stores across the country. Beall's generated $1.12 billion in revenues in 2010, up 4.9% over the year.
