Taylor-Pansing hired to renovate McCollum Hall

The City of Fort Myers has approved a continuing contract with Taylor-Pansing Inc. to act as construction manager-at-risk for the first phase of the roofing and stabilization of the historic McCollum Hall. The project calls for selective demolition, masonry repairs, new columns and beams, engineered wood trusses and a new roof system, along with installing shutters and sealing the building.

McCollum Hall, located at 2107-2719 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Fort Myers, was originally built in 1938 as a segregated dance hall and meeting place for African-Americans. It is being redesigned as McCollum Place, a collection of retail, restaurants and reception hall space.
