Houston firm enters Sarasota

SARASOTA — Bowen, Miclette & Britt Inc., a Houston-based insurance broker with $40 million in annual revenues, bought Huckleberry, Sibley & Harvey Insurance & Bonds Inc., which operates in Sarasota.

Huckleberry Sibley is based in Orlando. Besides its Sarasota office, the company has operations in Maitland, Cocoa, West Palm Beach, and Santa Rosa Beach. The firm generates $8 million in annual revenues, according to a company statement.

Bowen Miclette says it is the 64th-largest insurance brokerage in the United States. Founded in 1993, the company has offices in Texas, Louisiana, and Florida. Edward G. Britt, Jr. leads as the company's CEO and president.
