Savtira CEO joins Tampa EDC

TAMPA -- Timothy Roberts, CEO of Savtira Corp., joined the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp.'s board of directors this week, according to a company statement.

The announcement acknowledges that Savtira “used the organization's services” roughly a year ago, when the company was first established in Ybor City. In a release, Roberts says that's why he wanted to join the organization: “The business community in Tampa Bay has served us well and we want to return our appreciation by not only working in the county but working for the county through this avenue,” Roberts says.

No further specifics are included about what Commissioner Al Higginbotham referred to as “package” of resources, given by Hillsborough County to Savtira in August to support its announced plans to hire 265 new employees over 18 months.
