BUYER: The Salvation Army (principals: Israel Gaitther, M.S. Feener, Terry Griffin, Stephen Ellis, John Jones and Charles Powell), Atlanta


SELLER: Jenkins Properties LLC


PROPERTY: 1855 Boy Scout Drive, Fort Myers


PRICE: $1.2 million


PREVIOUS PRICE: $1.95 million, October 2004


TITLE FIRM ON DEED: Title Group Services, Fort Myers


PLANS, DESCRIPTION: The Salvation Army purchased the former Westcoast Motorcycles & Watercraft dealership property for $1.2 million.


The price equated to $142 per square foot.


The 2.19-acre site houses two commercial buildings with a total of 8,437 square feet.


The Salvation Army plans to open a small Family Store on the site while it develops plans for the thrift store to encompass the entire property. The store could be as big as 23,000 square feet, says Tim McCormick, facilities director for the organization.


Paul Sands and Mike Doyle of VIP Realty, Commercial represented the seller and William Mankin of Colliers International represented the buyer.
