Sarasota Memorial looks at Brownfield site


Officials with Sarasota Memorial Health Care System are exchanging information with the city of Sarasota over the future of a 13-acre parcel on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way between U.S. 301 and Mango Avenue. The city-owned parcel, better known as Marion Anderson Brownfield site, is proposed as a construction-staging site during Sarasota Memorial's construction of a new bed tower building. The site would have to be cleaned prior to being used.


Sarasota Memorial is discussing developing a 40,000-square-foot warehouse to house furniture and building supplies during the campus construction along with 200 parking spaces for the construction staff.
