Urban service area in the works

PASCO COUNTY —County staff is set to begin work on a plan to implement the adopted strategic plan for 2009-2012. The plan will outline specific tasks to achieve results for six challenges.

One area to be addressed is growth management, which includes the development of market areas and urban service areas for future growth. The staff is working on proposed market area maps and is drafting an urban service area plan. The service area approach is to be evaluated as required by the strategic plan and Senate Bill 360 requirements. The plan development methodology and the schedule will be presented to the county commission in future workshops.
