TAMPA — Primo Water Corp., headquartered in Tampa, has acquired Mountain Valley Water Co. of Los Angeles (MVLA).

According to a press release, the deal brings 8,000 new clients to Primo Water North America (Primo NA), the firm’s wholly owned subsidiary that supplies purified bottled water, water dispensers and self-service refill drinking water to customers in the United States and Canada.

MVLA, the release states, was founded in 1983 and is the largest distributor of Mountain Valley water in the United States. President Mark Scott will remain with the company; other terms of the deal, including acquisition cost, were not disclosed.

"MVLA shares our focus on offering high-quality products and delivering superior customer service and strengthens our footprint and customer density in southern California," Primo NA President Dave Muscato states in the release. "We are excited to become the sole home and office bottled water distributor of our great Mountain Valley spring water product in southern California, and we welcome the Los Angeles Mountain Valley customers and associates to our family."

Primo Water Corp. (NYSE: PRMW) reported $2.39 billion in gross revenue in 2019, up 0.8% from $2.37 billion in 2018.

"Primo NA is a natural combination for MVLA given our mutual commitment to delivering the highest-quality water products centered around natural sources, premier customer service and ecological preservation,” Scott states in the release. “I look forward to seeing the combined success of our products and services under Primo's ownership."
