FORT MYERS — Erin Broussard, a U.S. Air Force veteran with leadership positions in the mental health field, has been named CEO of The Hope Clubhouse in Fort Myers.

Broussard will spearhead the nonprofit’s mission of providing a community of support for adults living with a mental illness and opportunities for paid employment and access to education, housing, and wellness, according to a statement. Broussard has spent almost the past decade working in leadership roles with mental health organizations in Houston, according to her LinkedIn profile. She was also a technical sergeant with the Air Force for 13 years.

“I have dedicated my entire life to service work, from my military career to working with nonprofit organizations helping individuals in the most difficult circumstances,” Broussard says in the statement. “I feel driven to assist in meaningful ways that provide a sense of hope to those in the greatest need, and I am drawn to the mission of The Hope Clubhouse. It is heart work, community work and deeply important work. I hope to contribute to the continued success of the organization through my role as a servant leader who believes impact should be measured by actions.”

The Hope Clubhouse is founded on the belief that, with the help and support of their community, members can overcome the effects of mental illness, attain recovery and lead satisfying, productive lives. About 250 members participate in Clubhouse activities annually, with up to 35 members on-site every day.
