Morton Plant North Bay Hospital has completed its new Starkey Medical Tower and its Medical Arts Building. The additions effectively double the size of the hospital campus.

The four-story, 56,000-square-foot Starkey Medical Tower adds patients beds, intensive care, cardiac and medical-surgical units, new respiratory care services and community education facilities. The new three-story, 45,000-square-foot Medical Arts Building is the center for outpatient care and offers an expanded four-bed sleep disorders center, outpatient lab, outpatient rehabilitation services and an enclosed walkway to the main hospital. The building also houses offices for primary-care physicians and specialists.

Later this year, the hospital plans to renovate the Mitchell Rehabilitation Hospital, the hospital's emergency room with four additional beds, create a fitness trail along the hospital's water retention area and a new physician's lounge.

Harvard Jolly Inc. of Tampa is the architect for the project. The developer of the medical office building is Lauth Property Group based in Orlando. The contractor is Brasfield & Gorrie LLC of Orlando.
