Mobile food delivery service plans to hire 200 drivers

Bite Squad is now in more than 700 small- and medium-sized markets in the United States.

SARASOTA — Mobile and online food delivery service Bite Squad seeks to hire some 200 new contract drivers to deliver meals in the region.

The drivers, once activated as independent contractors, will be able to start immediately, according to a statement. All applicants must be 18 years or older, have a valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance and a smartphone.

Chris Barnes, head of Driver Operations, says flexible schedules are available for drivers in the Sarasota area, the release states. The company offers no-contact delivery for all restaurant orders for enhance safety for drivers and customers.

“We have a dedicated, hard-working group of team members, a diversified selection of restaurant partners and an independent contractor driver base, all working together to provide our diners with quality service,” adds Bite Squad Chairman and CEO Carl Grimstad in the statement. “These positions will help satisfy the continued demand for delivery from restaurant partners.”

Interested applicants can apply in person at the Sarasota Job Fair being held March 30 at Nathan Benderson Par or online at bitesquad.com.

As of Dec. 31, Bite Squad and Waitr, another mobile food delivery service, operated in small- and medium-sized markets in the United States in more than 700 cities.
