An area university wants to help midlevel leaders take the next step in their careers in 2019.
A new year brings resolutions for many people, one of which could be career advancement in the form of a promotion or new job — or even going into business for oneself.
Taking such steps, though, requires leadership skills. For businesspeople who want to establish, refresh or add to their leadership toolbox, the University of Tampa has just the ticket.
UT’s Sykes College of Business TECO Energy Center for Leadership has begun to accept applications for its Modern Advances in Leadership certificate program, which runs from Jan. 22 to April 16. According to a press release, participants will benefit from a variety of courses, which meet on Tuesdays from 6-9 p.m., focused on leadership acumen and mindset; negotiation skills; team leadership; and a deeper understanding of contextual factors in the workplace.
The courses’ content is geared toward early- and midlevel career professionals with some leadership experience, the release states, though UT graduate students are also welcome to enroll. As an additional benefit, participants will receive three complimentary coaching sessions from professional business coaches.
Tuition is $1,350 for early bird registration and nonprofit organization registration, and $1,500 for general registration. Registration closes Jan. 18. For more information and to register, visit ut.edu/cfl/leadershipdevelopment.
