Kolter Group’s long-range focus influences Florida projects

Company's 21 years in Florida have been prolific ones, and more is in the offing.

The Kolter Group was founded in 1997 with the development of the 1,200-home Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton.

Soon after that the company and its founder, Bobby Julien, entered into a joint venture to develop the Water Club on Longboat Key. That in turn provided an introduction to Sarasota.

In March 2005, Kolter snapped a roughly three-acre lot at U.S. 41 and Gulfstream Boulevard in Sarasota for $40 million — a record land price per acre at the time — and unveiled plans for the Grande Sarasotan, a luxury condo tower.
