Woodie’s Wash Shack, a locally owned carwash chain that initially launched in St. Petersburg before expanding to Tampa, has set its sights on fast-growing Pasco County for additional expansion opportunities.

According to a news release, Woodie’s will soon have six locations along the busy State Road 54 corridor between Zephyrhills and New Port Richey, in addition to two slated for Land O’ Lakes and Hudson. The company plans to grow its footprint as far south as Naples.

“The recent openings of locations in Ballantrae and Lutz, combined with additional locations on heavily trafficked arteries throughout the area, will allow our customers to find a Woodie’s location wherever they work play or live,” Woodie’s partner and Vice President Glen Stygar states in the release. “This is exactly the blueprint our founders envisioned when they conceptualized Woodie’s a few years ago. It’s a combination of quality and quantity that enables our members to visit a Woodie’s location anywhere in the county.”

The brainchild of Don Phillips, a veteran property developer who specializes in multifamily, office and retail projects, Woodie’s Wash Shack was founded in an effort to disrupt the fragmented carwash industry with a high-tech, membership-based business model. Its bright, colorful brand trades in 1950s surf culture nostalgia, and unlike many competitors, it does a great deal of social media marketing in addition to inking sponsorship deals with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg and the Valspar Golf Championship.

“We’re giving our customers exactly what they want,” Stygar states in the release. “A great experience with cutting-edge technology from a company that appreciates your business, gives back to the community and is easy to find. The days of a slow, boring carwash are over. Woodie’s is revolutionizing the industry and there is more to come.”
